Senior Commercial Analyst

Job Purpose:

Support in establishing a data-driven approach in all strategic, tactical, and operational decision-making and embed insights that are uncovered through Business Intelligence into the business. To help answer the highest-value analytical questions posed by senior management related to Commercial Business Units’ Performance.

Functional Accountabilities:

• Design structured analysis, create interactive data visualizations and drive meaningful insights to help the Commercial Business Units monitor their performance, identify problems, achieve targets, and take decisions
• Work with all the related stakeholders to create the right narratives about a Central Business Intelligence Unit serving the requirements of all Business Units in a standardized manner
• Interact with market research organizations to collaborate together to have a 360-degree viewpoint and identify missing opportunities (external & internal)
• Manage the process of using advanced analytics to support the business in other important domains like inventory management, customer retention and identification, and future forecasting
• Pro-actively support new initiatives and projects in order to improve efficiency and add value to the business
• Support Business users in the usage of Analytical toolkits and improve the adoption of the tools and products
• Providing pre- and post-analysis during the selection phase (for weekly promotions) to ensure that we have the best offers and prices
• Simulating Sales & Margins on a weekly basis to achieve departmental budgets through Promo Signoff Model
• Tracking actual weekly performance with the forecast(s) through Post-Mortem Analysis and identifying, highlighting, and communicating areas of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) – using comparison of KPIs like Sales, Promo Mix, Margins, Customer Count, and/or Basket Size with thresholds like budget, last year, forecast and signoff

Education
• Bachelor’s degree in any of these related fields (Business Administration, MIS, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science)
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working in strategy formulation, data analytics, and/or performance reporting

Experience, Skills & Competencies
• Excellent ability to work with Data Visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI is required.
• Exceptional track record of supervising a team to tackle large-scale problems and have strong analytics and data capabilities
• Excellent communication skills with all levels of an organization is a must
• Advanced computer skills and proficiency with MS Office including MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and especially MS Excel
• Strong ability to structure problems and leverage analytics in problem-solving as well as a significant business acumen resulting from a diversified experience
• Proactive problem solver with immediate professional and intellectual credibility and an impactful style
• Ability to track, organize and follow up multiple work streams
• Possess a cooperative style necessary to interact effectively with all personalities and across different functional disciplines
