Core Network Operations Specialist.NOC

Job Purpose

Core Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of the organization’s core network infrastructure. This role involves network monitoring, security enforcement, incident response, configuration management, and cloud security, ensuring compliance with industry standards and business requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Network Security & Compliance:
• Configure, maintain, and optimize security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, WAF, ISE, cloud security tools, and F5 WAF to safeguard network integrity.
• Monitor network traffic to detect anomalies, prevent unauthorized access, and ensure compliance with industry security standards.
• Implement identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and security monitoring for cloud-based infrastructure.
• Network Monitoring & Incident Management:
• Continuously monitor core network performance to ensure high availability and uptime.
• Diagnose and resolve network faults, outages, and security incidents, conducting root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
• Work closely with cybersecurity teams to proactively mitigate threats and vulnerabilities.
• Network Configuration & Optimization:
• Configure and manage routers, switches, SD-WAN, and cloud-based networking services for optimal performance and security.
• Conduct capacity planning and implement upgrades to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Ensure network segmentation and zero-trust security principles are enforced.
• Collaboration & Support:
• Work closely with IT operations, security, and infrastructure teams to align security efforts with business objectives.
• Collaborate with telecom providers, vendors, and service partners (e.g., Mobily, STC, Zain) to ensure seamless network operations.
• Provide technical support and training to IT teams regarding network security strategies and incident response.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, incidents, security policies, and performance metrics.
• Generate regular reports on network security status, incident response findings, and compliance adherence for management and stakeholders.

• 3-5 years of IT experience
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of network security devices, configurations, and vulnerability management.
• Problem-Solving & Analytical Thinking: Strong skills in troubleshooting, incident response, and risk assessment.
• Adaptability & Continuous Learning: Ability to keep up with emerging security threats, new technologies, and evolving best practices.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to coordinate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers.
