Business Intelligence Developer

Job Purpose :

The Business Intelligence (BI) Developer’s role is to strategically design and implement BI software and systems, including integration with databases and data warehouses. This includes selecting, blueprinting, gathering requirements, designing, and rolling out BI reports and Dashboards to end users. The Business Intelligence Developer is also responsible for ensuring high levels of BI availability through support functions and in-depth testing.

Key Accountabilities:

• Develop reports, dashboards, and other BI solutions to meet business requirements.
• Applying business intelligence solutions to improve business processes.
• Design and develop reporting solutions by leveraging ETL, data modeling, data visualization best practices to change data into business insights.
• Will connect to different dimensions of data from the data warehouse and other sources and utilize OBIEE, Tableau and Power BI models and business logic to produce visualizations to meet reporting requirements.
• Contribute to detailed reporting projects.
• Will serve as liaison between data source teams and the business units to gather requirements and creation of analytical solutions, dashboards, and reports.
• Must create database queries to effectively retrieve data from a variety of environments.
• Analyst must implement effective data validation and ensure proper data quality.
• Intelligently interpret business needs to gather and document required reporting & analytics requirements for data model creation across multiple business functions.
• Design and manage data models in data warehouse platform to enable efficient data consolidation, validation and visualization.
• Communicate new features, enhancements, and updates to user teams. Provide user support, training, documentation, and troubleshooting.

• 2-5 years work experience as a developer.
• Exposure to the retail Industry is a great advantage
• Experience with business requirements analysis, entity relationship planning, database design, reporting structures, and so on.
• Extensive experience developing visualizations (Tableau, OBIEE or Power BI) using database platforms like SQL Server, Oracle ADW or Oracle Retail Insights…
• Experience using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw business insights from large/complex data sets.
