Managerial Accountabilities:
- Ensures all direct repartees have personal objectives and KPIs which cascade down the department deliverables, regularly reviews performance and provide annual performance rating for his direct repartees.
- Plans and monitors training needs, provide professional coaching to repartees to ensure that they have the professional capability to fully deliver in their role and that they are working on a personal development plan.
- Motivates employees and monitors employee satisfaction within his area and plans and executes plans to improve it.
- Ensures staff in place to perform the required tasks.
Functional Accountabilities:
- Manages total category performance
- Defines Category Role Including Own Brand and Manage its execution in accordance with the overall company positioning and market chances.
- Builds the category strategy and translate it into plans for each sub-category
- Designs the category dimensions & planograms according to the overall company strategy and customer needs.
- Solid customer and market understanding and develop latest trends in products by sub-category and customer patterns.
- Builds Sustainable Joint Business Plans and detail with key activities for all sub-categories
- Sets the building blocks & annual operating plan for category growth
- Improves Inventory Turns
- Manages Supplier Brief communication, Items’ Selection, Promo Internal Communication, forecasting, and Signoff
- Post Promo Review and analysis and takes Actions accordingly
- Category Re-set
- Actively plan and work on filling market Gaps; Format, Tiers & Region
- Actively search new business opportunities, business models, services or products.
- Rationalization & Optimization
- Define Pricing Strategy and Setting sales prices / Margin responsibility for the category.
- Monitors and reviews category profitability
- Sets MFQ & MDQ to improve category Availability
- Monitor planogram implementation in stores to improve Category Footfall
- Develops CATMAN Principles to Improve Category Footfall
- Monthly & Quarterly Performance Review with Action
Skills
Bachelor Degree in Business or Engineering or any related field
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Minimum of five years experience within related field
Strong Negotiations skills
- Proven experience as category manager or similar role.
- Solid knowledge of category management, marketing and sales principles.
- Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- An analytical mind with a strategic ability.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Proficient in MS Office.
