Job Description
Job Purpose:
The Civil Lead will be a part of the Cooperative Maintenance team and will be responsible for being the Civil & Structural systems technical maintenance expert. The candidate will need to have a broad understanding of architectural, civil, structural, Plumbing and building envelope disciplines, and will be responsible for procedure-based civil related maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight.
Functional Accountabilities:
- Serve as primary technical resource for the Civil and Plumbing infrastructure (Civil, Plumbing, Building Structure, Building envelope,…,etc), with an emphasis on practical/field application.
- Author or approve work procedures to cover Civil and Plumbing infrastructure related troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing & mitigating personnel and system risk.
- Oversees procedures related to activities of troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of Civil and Plumbing infrastructure systems.
- Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) provisions related to construction, retrofit projects & maintenance activity.
- Lead and/or participate in root cause analysis activities in area of expertise, specifically Building Civil and Plumbing infrastructure systems.
- Assess and analyzing major building and structure related projects in terms of SOW, Cost, and Methodology.
- Oversight of Building Energy management programs.
- Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers/Technicians and other cross functional teams on Civil, Architectural, Building Structure, and Building envelope related systems and procedures.
- Provide feedback on global Civil and Plumbing maintenance strategies and global system design improvements.
- Review, discuss and provide feedback for Technical Scope of Works and activities, related to or impacting Building and plumbing infrastructure or operation sustainability.
- Conducting Walkthroughs and reviews, for new or ongoing projects, and providing feedback and snag list, based on technical knowledge relevant to SOW, Local and International Codes.
- Manage vendor relationships for electrical system maintenance and retrofit work
- Other duties as required to support the operation of organization.
Skills
Education
5-8 years’ experience in Maintenance
Bachelors / higher diploma in Civil engineering
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Experience interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings, elevation Drawings.
Significant experience in comprehending Civil plans, specifications, and construction drawings.
Working knowledge of Construction Procedures, Material Selection, Building Envelop and Insulation
Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work.
Working knowledge integration of civil attributes with different MEP systems typically used in FMCG Environments.
Working knowledge of International and Local Governmental Codes and Standards relevant to the subject.
Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, and Outlook
Working knowledge of Civil and Architecture related software (AutoCAD, Revit,…,etc)
English and Arabic language (Written & Spoken)
