Job Purpose


To deliver a customer focused merchandising solution for all ranges across all formats to help deliver the company sales and inventory targets

Responsible for ensuring that planograms accurately reflect assortment decisions and are consistent with category strategy, visual merchandising standards and planogram optimization targets


Job Responsibilities


Functional Accountabilities:

•Supervise the team in applying the merchandising principles for all categories in all stores
• Supervise the range review process and building of planograms in line with the range change schedule, agreed merchandising principles, policies and processes
• Lead the natural work team process, in order to ensure that all range change events, and projects follow the agreed critical path. and deliver the agreed objectives / business case.
• Address any variance to the above and only escalate if a resolution cannot be found.
• To liaise and communicate with the commercial & assortment teams to finalize ranges for all his categories by store clusters
• Provide all the variants needed as per the space and cluster strategy for each category.
• Issue the planograms to stores in agreed timescales and ensure compliance with the merchandise operation teams

Managerial Accountabilities:

• Ensures all of their team have personal objectives and KPIs which cascade down the department deliverables, regularly reviews performance and provide annual performance rating for their direct reportees
• Role models the ethics and values of the business, demonstrate cultural sensitivity, and maintain high personal visibility in their own and other departments
• Supports talent management and succession planning within the department
• Motivates employees and monitors employee satisfaction within their department and plans and executes plans to improve it
• Ensure optimum structure for the team and that positions are properly staffed and maintain high retention rates
• Manages poor performance with regular data-based feedback


Customer Accountabilities:

• Ensure that all stakeholders in the merchandising process are kept updated
• Ensure that stakeholder feedback is sought, reviewed and where applicable used
• Carry out regular store visits across all formats to review implementations

Skills

Education

Bachelor preferably in Sciences

Experience, Skills & Competencies

• 5-10 years of experience working in retail
• Computer skills specifically CKB
• English and preferably Arabic
• Works effectively with teams
• Ability to analyze and critically assess problems. Methodical, logical approach with excellent math skills
• Effective oral, written & presentation skills
• Willingness to travel (15%)
