Job Purpose
The head of Capital Projects is responsible of the successful delivery of the capital projects portfolio. This includes the lifecycle project conceptualization, planning, designing, construction, interface with design and construction and effectively development or redevelopment.
Functional Accountabilities
Developing a project charter.
Identifying stakeholders.
Develop the brand standard as per the business model.
Developing a project management plan
Defining and managing scope, creating a work breakdown structure (WBS), and requirements gathering
Planning, defining, and developing schedules, activities, estimating resources and activity durations
Planning and estimating costs, and determining budgets
Planning and identifying quality requirements
Planning communications
Planning for and identifying potential risks, performing qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and planning risk mitigation strategies
Planning for and identifying required procurements and sources.
Planning for stakeholder expectations
Directing and managing all work for the project
Performing all aspects of managing quality
Managing all aspects of communications.
Participating in tender process i.e. design, submission and review
Take an action on securing necessary procurements.
Managing all stakeholder expectations
Monitoring and controlling the project work and managing any necessary changes
Validating and controlling the scope of the project
Controlling the scope of the project
Controlling project costs
Controlling the quality of deliverables
Communications management: Controlling all team and stakeholder communications
Controlling procurements
Controlling stakeholder engagements
Closing all phases of the project
Closing all project procurements
Handing over with all the required documents (as built drawing, warranties, fire and life safety MEP testing and commissioning, etc.
Skills
Experience, Skills & Competencies
Min 15 years hands-on experience in construction projects managemant
Ability to lead & control a project team
Thorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
Excellent in managing a portofolio of various projects in paralelel that may be interrelated.
Strong commitment to safety and environmental issues. Willingness to adhere to all safety and health rules, procedures and guidelines.
Strong problem detection and solving abilities
English and Arabic language (Written & Spoken)
Strong Computer skills (MS Office, microsoft project and Auto cad)
Ability to set personal and project priorities and be highly organized
Must be able to work without direct supervision to accomplish goals and meet schedules.
