Job Purpose:
The Strategic sourcing manager will lead the execution and implementation of the GS sourcing strategy. He/she will also assist in all aspects of the GS portfolio of all PL, exclusive, and imported Brands. The job holder is responsible to create sourcing plans to drive cost efficiencies in our supply chain and deliver on the key supply chain priorities (Quality, Freshness, Service & Cost). He/ She will continuously provide value for the company in all GS buying and to manage risk and relationships with the suppliers locally and overseas. This job is critical to the success of all the Private labels in grocery & fresh. As such its output is a key enabler for the growth of our GS brands across
Functional Accountabilities:
Maximizing profitability & Improve cash flows:
o Implement and successfully execute buying plans with internal clients to deliver and improve value Improvement objectives based on GS sourcing strategy
o Negotiate and challenge suppliers’ quality, price, service, MOQ, lead times & payment terms to generate the best value for money.
o Identify and execute cost-saving opportunities or improvement projects
o Conduct benchmarking exercise to compare pricing and supply arrangements with other units
o Leverage scale buying opportunities on getting high volume competitive pricing for Panda PL
Minimizing business Risks by ensuring full adherence of GS co-manufacturers to Panda and industry standards and eliminating supply disturbance
o Implement and manage sourcing strategies for GF/GNF & Fresh SKUs to ensure a continuous and sustainable supply
o Set Guidelines of approach for Supply Agreements & SLA negotiations/renewals for all GS suppliers / co-manufactures
o Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for measuring GS source's service and cost
o Manage the commodity trends and identify gaps/opportunities using different tools such as Mintec
o Manage & develop the relationship with key suppliers / co-manufacturers to resolve any disputes that may arise during the contractual period.
o Support the Product Development Launch plans in alignment with the GS products development team & internal stakeholders to meet business goals
o Manage assigned category (GF/ GNF, Fresh, and GET) portfolio and ensure no disruptions to the GS SKUs supply pipeline
o Manage and conduct required GS periodic Tender
o Manage PPV by ensuring that there are no adverse effects on Panada GS's operating budget and highlight any sudden price change that can lead to an impact on the PPV
o Co-Lead Vendor Assurance program working closely with Vendor Assurance Team
o Participate in the audit of Panda GF/ GNF and Fresh major suppliers.
o Identify clear quality improvement actions with suppliers and champion the completion of the process
Governance & Compliance
o Ensure compliance with the company buying process as well as continuously recommend process improvements to be able to achieve proper control on all buying activities & eliminate non-value-added activities
Reporting
o Prepare and maintain supplier evaluation forms and Supply Position Risk Assessments to ensure no supply disturbance or no supply of the certain PL products
o Report internal customer service levels using defined metrics
o Report service level metrics for all key suppliers and provide feedback to suppliers to ensure continual improvement using defined metrics.
Skills
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in business or engineering
Experience, Skills, & Competencies:
Experience Minimum 5- 7 years experience in sourcing / co-manufacturing
Solid skills in contract negotiations, supplier management/evaluation, and sourcing spend analysis.
Strategic planning and Creative problem-solving techniques
Strong supply chain understanding and focus
Driven communication and presentation skills with the ability to network and influence people
Assertive leadership and decision-making skills
