Network Operations Specialist

Job Purpose

 To establishes and maintains network performance by building network configurations, connections and troubleshooting network problems to ensure high availability of the network and meet business objectives and SLAs

Functional Accountabilities:

• To provide support to HQ and Warehouses by troubleshooting and diagnosing problems, escalating problems to vendor, and taking corrective action to resolves network infrastructure issues and incidents in sites as per agreed Service level agreement (SLA)

• To establish networking environment in HQ and warehouses by designing system configuration, directing system installation, defining, documenting, and enforcing system standards.

• To implement Network projects in adherence to timelines, track milestones related to assigned tasks and project to achieves business objectives.

• To serves as technical specialist in network problems and emergencies, conducts technical research on network upgrades and components to determine feasibility, time required, and compatibility with current system

• To performs routine preventative maintenance on network hardware and software applications, troubleshoots malfunctions of network applications and security systems to ensures service continuity of all site location

• To serve as network administrator responsible for installing, configuring, upgrading Network components such as L2 & L3 switches. F5 Load balancer, Bluecoat and Palo Alto.

• To ensure that all given tasks are performed based on ITIL process and procedures

• To participate in customer satisfaction surveys by providing appropriate solutions and alternatives in areas of improvement to maximize the costumer experience

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology

Certifications:

• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP): Nice to have
• Other certifications specific to vendors and technologies, such as Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), may also be beneficial.

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in TCP/IP networking protocols, subnetting, and routing.
  • Knowledge of network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Nagios, or SolarWinds.
  • Understanding of VPN technologies, wireless networking, and network security principles.
• Soft Skills:
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to diagnose and resolve network issues.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to document network configurations, diagrams, and procedures.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adaptability to learn new technologies and keep up with industry trends.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
