Job Purpose:

 

The Senior Legal Advisor assists in the oversight and management of the legal and compliance matters and providing counsel and operational support on a broad range of matters including regulatory compliance, employment, risk management, contracts, Agreements,  joint Ventures, MoUs, liabilities and insurance, and Various corporate strategy and executive matters to ensure the maximum protection of legal rights and to maintain operations within the limits prescribed by law.

 

The Senior Legal Advisor is also part of the legal services team and carries a collective responsibility to ensure the provision of quality legal services to the department and is responsible for the management and development of other legal services staff and for project leadership.

 

 

 

 

Job Responsibilities:

Functional Accountabilities:

To performs below legal tasks in a good manner and standard, to ensure that all legal works are performed as per standard required and in line with Panda and Panda subsidiaries interest.

 

 

  • Providing a strategic legal advice counsel, support, and assistance (including legal opinions and legal research) on various high-level legal issues (disciplinary, contract, association, governance, risk management and contentious matters) related to strategic and executive matters.

 

 

  • Drafting and negotiating simple and complex contracts,

 

 

  • Advising on general business law issues and managing the legal issues of all areas of the company, including but not limited to corporate matters, procurement, security, and insurance,

 

 

  • Enhancing Company Policy and Regulations to comply with laws.

 

 

  • Enhancing various contracts and other legal documents.

 

 

  • Providing prompt and concise legal advice and specific business and effective solutions-driven support to all the Company departments.

 

 

  • Ensuring the provision of excellent negotiating of Contracts and Agreements with Customers, Service Providers and Suppliers in a timely and effective way to deliver the best outcome for the Company’s interests.

 

 

  • Support Company Department in managing their Contracts and Agreements.

 

 

  • Developing new policies and procedures

 

 

  • Conducting trainings and awareness sessions to Company Departments to pro-actively create and maintain awareness of business employees for (compliance with) relevant laws and regulations

 

 

  • To secure compliance of business operations with relevant laws and regulations,

 

 

  • Supporting corporate team in relation to corporate transactions, including drafting and negotiation of supporting documentation and transaction management.

 

 

  • Ability to lead and manage the resolution of complex legal issues.

 

 

  • Implements legally compliant best business practices and policies in order to protect the Organization from regulatory and/or legal action or implications.

 

 

  • To provide mentoring and supervision to less experienced legal staff

 

 

  • To develop, implement, manage, and monitor legal team quality improvement processes and practices.

 

 

  • To assist on any matter and perform other duties, from time to time as required.

 

 

  • To prepare reports, submissions, or opinions for or on behalf of the Legal Department on legal and policy issues affecting the interests of the Company.

  • Represent the department as required in liaison with your line manager and head of the department.

 

 

Skills

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Law

Master's Degree in Law (preferred)

Experience, Skills & Competencies

 

 

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of related work experience

 

 

  • Professional qualifications to include membership in the Ministry of Justice or similar (preferred)

 

 

  • Experience in Company and corporate law and in performing legal work in related Companies.

 

 

  • Experience in employment law and in performing legal work.

 

 

  • Thorough knowledge of the laws of KSA

 

 

  • Knowledge of regulatory environment affecting retail sector in KSA.

 

 

  • Thorough knowledge of judicial procedures and rules.

 

 

  • Thorough knowledge of court and legal procedures.

 

 

  • Ability to provide guidance and advice on legal/policy and legislative issues, and the ability to negotiate through collaboration

 

 

  • Ability to perform legal research

 

 

  • To provide other legal and strategic advice to the Contract Manager, Head of Department, and other Legal staff, as required.

 

 

  • Excellent command of both written and spoken official languages (English and Arabic) is essential.

 

 

  • Enthusiasm and a passion for working as a team member

 

 

  • Excellent in computer skills 

 

 

  • willing to work and travel occasionally within the working days and on weekends
