Job Purpose
To lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud-native architectures and high-performing software engineering teams. This role is responsible for building customer-centric applications, with a strong focus on the retail and e-commerce sectors, by leveraging AWS services to develop resilient, secure, and highly available systems. The position combines engineering leadership with solution architecture, driving strategic decisions for cloud infrastructure, microservices, and mobile solutions to ensure innovative, reliable, and business-aligned technology outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:Software Development & Delivery• Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle for consumer-facing and internal platforms including mobile apps, APIs, and integrations.• Manage a team of engineers and oversee the development, deployment, and release of apps on App Store and Google Play Store.• Own the development roadmap and coordinate closely with crossfunctional teams (Product, QA, UX) to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.• Implement and enforce engineering best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, Agile methodology).
Cloud & Solution Architecture• Design scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, and CloudWatch.• Develop architectural blueprints and design documents for internal systems and customer-facing apps used by millions of users.• Establish microservices and API-first architecture with high availability and failover strategies.• Ensure seamless integration of third-party systems such as CRM, loyalty platforms, and payment gateways.• Ensure real-time integration with retail ERP and other core enterprise systems through secure APIs and event-driven messaging, maintaining data consistency across the end-to-end commerce stack.• Drive personalization and AI/ML initiatives by deploying recommendation engines and MLOps workflows on AWS to boost conversion and customer lifetime value.DevOps & Infrastructure Management• Oversee infrastructure automation using Terraform or similar IaC tools.• Monitor system health, logs, and metrics to proactively identify performance bottlenecks or anomalies.• Design disaster recovery plans and scaling strategies to support peak load events in retail and e-commerce.
Stakeholder Communication & Leadership• Serve as the technical liaison between business leaders and engineering teams.• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment on priorities and timelines.• Coach and mentor engineers; drive career development and performance management within the team.• Define and track KPIs related to delivery efficiency, system reliability, and user experience.Cloud & Architecture Expertise (AWS-Focused)• Expertise in AWS ecosystem: EC2, Lambda, CloudFormation/Terraform, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, Route 53, IAM, VPC, Auto Scaling, SNS, SQS.• Strong understanding of serverless architecture and event-driven systems.• Experience with container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Docker).• Ability to architect for scalability, security, and fault tolerance across distributed systems.Security & Compliance• Ensure strict compliance with GDPR and PCI-DSS, and regional data-protection laws through privacy-by-design architecture, encryption, and continuous audit of all customer-data flows
Job Purpose:
Ensure panda adherence and compliance to quality and regulatory standards (gov authorities MOH, SFDA, MEWA, GCC, Municipality etc.) by communicating and setting an action plan with the concerned department to act accordingly. Support Panda Retail Company in the QMS development, implementation and sustainability, through having the right updated policies, procedures and work instructions in place and in use.
Regulation Compliance:• Manage Government Regulatory Compliance and control systems to ensure compliance to regulatory and legislation requirement (e.g. Municipality/ SASO/ SFDA etc.) and align guidelines with main stakeholders.• Ensuring Regulatory Compliance and oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of legal and regulatory guidelines with main stakeholders from Commercial, Operations and Quality team.• Collaborate with GR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations and set a plan for timely compliance projects with the concerned department.• Supports Panda’s future projects to identify possible compliance risks and act as a governance role to ensure adherence to regulations throughout the projects.• Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.• Communicate all new circulations from regulatory authorities to the concerned departments and ensure compliance on time to avoid any violations of legal or regulatory guidelines.• Prepare reports for Senior Management and External Regulatory bodies as appropriate to highlight compliance risks and set action plans.• Maintain documentation of compliance activities, such as complaints received or investigation outcomes regarding regulation violations.• Support and oversee product/Projects trials from regulatory perspective.• Keep up to date with changes in regulatory legislation and guidelines.• Coordinate with different department heads to review all departmental compliance policies.
Customer Complaints Management:
• Develop Quality Processes and procedures to ensure consistency of policies and procedures, to manage Complaints, Quality Risk issues, NCR’s and systems, legislative compliance.• Develop Customer Complaints System to ensure resolution and maintenance of customer satisfaction and Panda’s reputation and maintain effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system.• Ensure effective Customer Complaints System in place to ensure resolution and maintenance of customer satisfaction and Panda’s reputation and maintain effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system.
Non-conformity System. • Handling the Non-conformity system to document, track, and escalate critical quality issues that may cause risk to the business by identifying the root-causes and addressing the right CAPAs. • Manage non-conformity system and ensuing that Nonconformance management process functions effectively, and that all necessary guidance and training is available. • Evaluates incoming food alerts and recalls and assess the impact to the business and/or its impact to determine the actions needed in response to internal or external notices.
Product Recall System Management • Develop and implement of the Recall process on cooperate level, aligned with stakeholders in order to minimize the associated risks of the recall.• Performs reconciliation steps to close the recall. Review Stores/ DC inventories for returns or disposals. Complete and close log entries. Complete any required stakeholder communications and or reporting.• Provides information needed to support the recovery of costs for the administration of the recall. Works with stakeholders and provides back-up documentation in support of cost inquiries and works with Category Management in support of the cost recovery effort, as required.• Identifies the affected product /Service including, on hand inventory within the Distribution Centers. Creates a checklist and DC instructions and communicates to all Stores/DC s to perform inspections and quarantines as needed per the requirement of the Recall. Addresses internal stakeholder inquiries accordingly.• Recall process improvement participates in revisions of the recall process to ensure that the process is comprehensive of actions, communication, and involvement of appropriate people. Work with intersections to identify areas of process improvement and compliance. Identify resource constraints and opportunity for IT enhancements
Quality Projects Management • Define and build a solid foundation of a Quality Assured Project Management that will be highly recognizable and relevant throughout the lifecycle of the project. • Support assigned projects (Functional and Organizational Level) with the respective Department to ensure that projects are executed according to the agreed SLA. • Responsible of overseeing the QA project's overall management, which includes coordinating with senior management, monitoring project implementation, financial and administrative oversight, reporting, and monitoring and evaluating the project to make sure it complies with Panda's Quality and Regulations Standards.• Responsible to retain the project Quality documentation.NPI Management• Participate in New Product Introduction (NPI) and project team activity as required, to ensure that specifications are updated and reviewed, and that the product complies with Panda's standards.• Oversee the development of Good Product Practices to ensure that products are safe and of the requisite quality for store availability.
Maintain effective documentation processes:• Establish Standard QA Procedures (SOP’s) related to QA department to comply with company needs.
